"It's cinema from the heart, with the kind of truth and power which is rarely attained these days"

- Tom Jolliffe, Flickering Myth -

NOT JUST A FILM

This very raw and emotional guerrilla-arthouse project was born as a way for the author
to survive a particularly dark phase of her life, depicting the events almost at the same time
she was going through them.

Follows the troubled journey of Anna, a tormented aspiring writer and a bit of a fish
out of water in contemporary London. Unable to get over the only girl she ever loved (Robyn),
and alienated by a society she doesn't seem to fit in, Anna starts attempting to get creative
inspiration from her longing for the lost love. Over the span of months, and cross-cutting
between different time periods, the two girls share passionate, dreamlike adventures in London,
Paris and South Italy. As the film progresses, the conflict within the relationship, as well as the
deeply rooted inner conflict Anna is experiencing will become increasingly more apparent and
we will be able to reconstruct the past events that eventually led Anna to the place she is finding
herself in right now, in a crazy downwards spiral of occurrences.

OFFICIAL INTERVIEW

In this very raw and heartfelt interview Anna Alfieri talks about the extreme pain she was dealing with when she started making "Borderline" (2020), the struggles of trying to make it as an actress in London and the difficulties of making such a personal, inspired by pain "arthouse-guerrilla" film with a zero budget, no previous experience and almost entirely by herself. Filmed in August 2017, while still shooting "Borderline". Copyright: Oliver Pictures, Aveleen Rose
